So mush fuss over nothing
by Claudia Sonea
When you don't have anything to do and you just want to advertise your business just stir a storm in a glace of water. That is the way Cisco Systems do it. The board keeps talking about the strategy they have to promote both the brand Cisco and the new acquired Linksys, a Wi-Fi hardware for home offices and small businesses producer. President and CEO John Chambers made a statement from which everyone concluded that Linksys brand will retire and will be folded into Cisco brand. Later on Karen Sohl, media relations officer, on July 30 released another statement of Chambers in which all the misunderstandings from the first statement were explained. In fact no one ever thought about taking off the market a brand so famous like Linksys and there is no financial reason to do such thing. Both brands will continue to function separately until a merge will prove to be more efficient. In my opinion it is just another way of making free commercial to their brands. Until recently I haven't even more than the name Cisco Systems and Linksys is something totally new for me. If they wanted to merge or not it is no interest to us or at least not that much interest, only for those in North America it is because there it is number one brand. But because of the media that made such a big fuss over nothing, I am now aware of everything. Stay connected and trust nothing that you can't verify on your own. Enjoy!
